Tajudeen Abbas GCON (born October 1, 1965) is a Nigerian academic and politician currently serving as the 15th Speaker of the House of Representatives of Nigeria, a position he assumed in 2023.
Abbas began his political career in 2011 when he was first elected as a member of the House of Representatives representing Zaria Federal Constituency under the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He later joined the All Progressives Congress (APC), where he continued his legislative career. Over the years, he served on various committees and gained a reputation for sponsoring numerous bills aimed at improving governance and public welfare.
In 2023, he was elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, succeeding Femi Gbajabiamila. His tenure has been marked by efforts to foster legislative efficiency, national unity, and collaboration among lawmakers to address Nigeria's pressing challenges.
